BugBeWear® garments feature Insect Sheild® factory bonded tick and insect repellent.  Repellent apparel provides convenient, effective, long lasting protection.  It repels ticks, mosquitos, ants, flies, chiggers, and midges.

The active ingredient, permethrin, has been used for bite prevention for over 40 years.  Recognizing that Lyme and other tick borne illnesses are most commonly acquired near and around the home, they offer repellent garments appropriate for typical yard and garden chores.  Jeans, sweats, tees, socks, and more. Get on now and purchase their socks at https://www.bugbewear.com/tick-and-insect-repellent-socks/.

The garments have been tested to last for over 70 washes.  Heavier fabrics will hold the repellent longer than light fabrics.  Unwashed items could last for a decade.  Expand your wardrobe today to protect yourself and your loved ones!

Tips on Ticks

  • Wear long sleeves and pants, especially when gardening or hiking. A hat is a good idea too, as ticks can fall out of trees.
  • After a long period outside, take a shower within two hours! Check your skin and hair during this time. Ticks can range in size too, and could look like a small freckle on your skin. Pay close attention to your hair, groin, and armpit areas.
  • If you find a tick, remove with pointy tweezers, as close to the skin as possible, and pull it straight out. Do not squeeze the body of the tick and risk pushing anything from the tick stomach into your body while removing.

Don’t let this keep you inside, but use these precautions to enjoy the warm weather!
